    Think Globally, Act Locally

Hello,  Jeonju Intercultural Research and Studies Center ,

    This is JIRSC

Hello, and welcome to the J Jeonju Intercultural Research and Studies Center .

    VISION
The Korean society has undergone radical changes in various aspects. One of these changes is the transformation into a multicultural society. A society that was once composed of a single ethnicity has become exposed to diverse cultures due to intermarriages with various ethnicities, the opening of Korea's labor market, and the presence of international students from different countries. Koreans, who had long lived within the traditions and culture of a single ethnicity, now find themselves unavoidably experiencing various cultures. This exposure to unfamiliar cultures and the role of hosting foreigners, which is unfamiliar to Koreans accustomed to their own traditions, has often led to tension and conflicts within Korean society.

The JIRSC observes the situation in Korea as it enters a multicultural society. It envisions contributing to the cultivation of the ability of Koreans, who possess the host culture, to embrace and tolerate diverse cultures with understanding. JIRSC also aims to effectively convey Korean culture to immigrant spouses, labor migrants, and international students living in Korea, enabling them to integrate and coexist with the host culture in their respective environments.

I will always be with you and grow with a humble heart. Thank you.
